Second Wave Delivery Systems, LLC (SWDS) is determined to improve clinical outcomes in the United States while addressing the rising costs of healthcare. We are developing a technology-enabled, integrated system tailored to optimize value-based arrangements for payors and providers serving Medicare and Medicaid enrollees. The Vice President of Business Development is responsible for increasing the business by acquiring new clients and establishing productive and profitable relationship with the external firms and organizations. The VP of Business Development provides strategic direction to the business and lead all the business development activities. They are responsible for sourcing, directing, and evaluating new opportunities, acquisitions, mergers, etc., that are within the organization's strategic growth and development plans by doing thorough research activity to develop and lead negotiations.



Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a targeted, systemic, and sustained business development strategy.
  • Establish a set of aggressive yet realistic targets and metrics for sourcing, securing, and managing new business opportunities and conducting outreach.
  • Build and manage BDC relationships.
  • Establish channel partnerships.
  • Work as a team and engage SMEs in sales support efforts.
  • Drive solution feedback and message sales barriers to leadership team.
  • Engage in marketing efforts such as conference planning and attendance, collateral development, website content and plan and execute outreach campaigns.
  • Adjust business development strategy based on metric assessments, market feedback, unforeseen opportunities, etc. to ensure maximum appeal and exposure.
  • Manage any ongoing and new, collaborative project activities with customers and/or external partners.
  • Identify and lead business development work in other markets that offer compelling value propositions.
  • Manage customer sampling and technology qualification process from start to finish.
  • Own execution of the business strategy by conducting competitive benchmarking, market segmentation, target market sizing, identifying new opportunities, and subsequent company positioning
  • Negotiate and execute business contracts and agreements, in close collaboration with legal and finance teams.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Location

  • Remote with travel to client locations or company offices as needed.


Job requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in sales related fields of study, including client relationship management, professional services, business development, team leadership, Human Resources and B2B sales, or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of risk adjustment and quality (retrospective and/or prospective) related to MA required, ACA and ACO knowledge preferred. Medicaid experience not required but a plus.
  • Sales experience in risk adjustment and quality improvement programs with a proven successful track record.
  • Market knowledge related to plans, providers, and competitors.
  • Previous experience and rolodex of sales targets.
  • Sales experience with a competitor (or similar vendor) is a plus, showing a strong retention rate and success in cross-selling.
  • Strong leadership capability and executive presence.
  • Strong relationship management skills.
  • Ability to grow and maintain relationship with any individual, irrespective of the background and type of personality.
  • Ability to present and engage with C-level prospects and clients.
  • Ability to manage the end-to-end sales cycle, generate leads and manage outreach campaigns.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong creativity and critical thinking abilities.
  • Ability to work with recent technological applications relating to daily tasks.
